Fun Fair III

One of the machines at the fair where people are being swirled around in different direction at the same time. The painted figure in the middle looks like it was paited by Robert Crumb. (If you don’t...

Sun & Cloud

Not the first sky in this blog, but they are all different. By-the-way, this one is especially for Basjan.

Ancient Willow

This one we saw near the Rhinoceros of a few days ago: another dead willow which makes a sort of porch to the landscape behind it.

Summer Plants

We had a break on the bank of the river, and when we sat down we were covered with ants in no time. This was at a place a bit away from the ants.

The Angry Goldfish

On this house on the outskirts of Deventer is a painted sign saying “The Angry Goldfish”. The blue of the sky shows how beautiful the weather was.

Alley

No cars in this alley in the center of Deventer, just off its central square, the Brink.

Skimming Light

The low sun is just touching this house, also at the Brink at Deventer.

Sunset

Returning from Deventer, we were just in time to make this one of the new railway bridge across the Twente-kanaal. In the distance the new windmills, which are situated on the banks of the IJssel.

Moving House

I sometimes (when I am not driving) make photos from the car and mostly I can delete them from the camera. I liked this one though; it looks like the house is moving instead of the camera.

Moving Windmill

I was driving this time, so Irmgard took this one from the car. This windmill is right on the A15 in the Betuwe. It shows only a part of it: we drove 120 K/h.

Windmill at the A15

A few days after yesterday’s photo I was again driving along the A15 and I stopped a minute to have a good go at this really great windmill, standing there a bit forlorn with thousands of cars speeding...

Merwede

I was at Dordrecht a few weeks ago on a bleak day. (The bleakness matches the town somehow). This is the Merwede seen down the river with the hulk of a nice ship, and anglers on the bank.

Merwede II

This is looking up the Merwede at Dordrecht. In the middle is a catamaran, to the right a tug. In the distance is the Grote Kerk (‘Big Church’) with its fat tower just visible. Unfortunately I did not...

Manningtree

This is again an analog photo, made with my old Leica, and taken in England at Manningtree, near Harwich, where we spent the night after having crossed the North Sea.

Bourton House

Looks like Italy but this is at Bourton House where Irmgard and I spent a month being artist-in-residence. Bourton House is in the heart of the Cotswolds in England. (Again a Leica shot).

In the Cotswolds

We had a great time at Bourton House. This is a good example of the landscape in the Cotswolds.

Katrina I

Through e-mail I got a few photos of the approaching hurricane Katrina. They were sent to me by Jeannette van den Brink and Kurt Balmus. Unfortunately they don’t know who made the photos, so I am a bit...

Katrina II

Again an awesome view of ‘Katrina’.

Katrina III

The photos I got are so fascinating that I cannot resist showing quite a few. This is the third, and here the colour of the sky is unbelievable.
